I've painted your picture
On the walls of my heart,
In bright baby colors
Imaginable art.
I sample your scent
Of sweet baby powder.
I pick up your coos
And gurgles grow louder.
I watch serene smiles
Spread over your face…
Delighting your mom
As memories take place.
Though distance is great
Between you and me…
A bond has been formed
For you’re family.
You’re here in my thoughts
And I simply must say
Your great grandma loves you
My dear Desiree.

~~Author’s Note~~
This was written for my first great grand
daughter. When I lost everything on my
computer, I lost this poem. I just found it
in a box of poems, so am reposting for Desi.
She lives in New Jersey and just got promoted
to the third grade. :)
