Poetic Verses
Those Rights
There is always somehow and somewhere that talk of rights
Depending on where on sits the results do not being delights
Now today there is that focus on the rights of the child, too much
And some of them are so clever that on to it they clutch
Parent too are sometimes caught in the proverbial cross road of course
Causing some of them to temper of surrender that disciplinarian force
And now one can see even those who are teaching in the schools
Exercise some trepidation as they know they will get little support when enforcing the rules
Something shocked men when I paid a visit to a school one day
Thought that the children were sick as they did not run around and play
What a contrast from my days, as each break was used a playing occasion
But today, great care and any accident would start a process of litigation
Yes one should love their children and at some moments pamper them
But when that occasion arises so love them deeply to also discipline
Not abusive, not too lenient but use some creativity in your actions
That when all is said and done, the exercise would be a worthwhile lesson
But alas there have be changes in the society and the effects are so sadly
As people have to be so careful and have to mete out kindness so cautiously
Because now if someone's child feel and happen to bruise the knee
There may be that reluctance to help, for the fear of being accused of touching inappropriately
So it a very serious problem when one will express some fear
When acting in a manner that is so humane and of such care
Well in a community all its takes a mind that is perverted
To cause such distrust and the people will be divided
