Rather LoveYou were indeed called to be free, And given the insight to see; The difference of wrong and right, As well as between dark and light. Make not freedom as an excuse, Allowing yourself to abuse; Expressing in a corrupt way, And causing you to disobey, Rather serve each other with love, With your faith targeted above; Compassion for one another. The same as sister and brother. In your leisure and your labor, Make sure that you love your neighbor; But if you criticize or blame, Do not destroy or put to shame. Live in a spiritual nature, In Christ you are a new creature; The Holy Spirit directs you, For your life in remaining true. And then you will never follow, False promises that are hollow; What corrupt nature desires, Will be lighting earthly fires. If spiritual traits is your guide, The Law of love you must abide; Bearing burdens for each other, Compassionate towards one another. Copyright © 2012 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
