Speaking Frankly
At home there is silver and gold,
But also things of wood and clay;
Some things honored as you are told,
As some are used every day.
Some things you dislike and you shun,
While others you cherish and seek;
Something you love second to none,
While other things make you shriek.
You must prepare to do good things,
But knowing what is good and bad;
Of what the glory of God brings,
And anything that makes Him sad.
Stay away from the youthful lust,
That the foolish people pursue;
And in the Lord start putting trust,
What He is wanting you to do.
Follow up on faith peace and love,
While you worship the Lord God;
Sing praises in service thereof,
As you also honor and laud.
To each person you must be kind,
As well to be a good teacher;
Showing others a peace of mind,
And how to be a new creature.
Be gentle teaching the Good News,
To ones who seem to be oppose;
Help them to change their way and views,
And how purity in heart grows.
