The earthly ministry of Christ didn't begin
Before the Holy Spirit came upon Him
Mankind couldn't be filled til after Jesus Ascended
In Acts 1:4-5 was the last command to His disciples given
The Spirit prays the perfect will of God for us
It builds up our faith and refreshing comes
Not by might,nor by power but by My Spirit thus saith the Lord
He commanded His disciples to wait until the baptism
of the Holy Spirit came forth
It was in the book of Acts Christ church was birthed
On the day of pentecost in the upper room they were
filled and diverse tongues came forth
When salvation happens the Holy Spirit baptizes us into Christ
In Romans 6:4-5 isn't water baptism but by the Holy Spirit for new life
There is water baptism that is the believer outwardly acknowledging
by faith his desire to walk with Christ
Then a seperate gift is the infilling of the Holy Spirit to empower us
The infilling of the Holy Spirit was the last command given by Jesus
In Acts five times speaking in tongues was the evidence of
As He stated in Acts to wait, I was reminded of Isaiah 40:31
It's so important to wait and desire all God has for us
We're truly in the last days with no time to waste
The bible speaks of three baptisms:
At salvation we're baptized into Christ by the Holy Spirit,
Then there's water baptism,
and the baptism of the Holy Spirit infilling us by Christ
I praise the Lord I have received all three
I know now it was the infilling that began the change in me
Years ago I had such trouble with straying away
But it's the baptism of the Holy Spirit that has consecrated
my life unto this day
The things of this world I use to partake and love
I now hate as I seek the things above
It is Christ in Me and I in Him
That is renewing my mind to abhor evil and sin
The precious Holy Spirit guiding me into all truth
Opening my spiritual eyes and ears to share with you
Although at times it gets difficult with hinderances to do
My heart's desire is to plant seeds to bear good fruit
As a watchman on the wall to warn too
There's so many false doctrines that can deceive you
More are turning away from the gospel news
The object of our faith must be in Christ and
His finished work at the cross
For the Holy Spirit to have latitude to work in us
