 THE AFTER LIFE

Is there a Heaven?
And is there a Hell?
A place where the soul
Is destined to dwell?

Some are so skeptic…
Are quick to say no.
At times even Christians
Will doubt it is so.

Some have suggested
The reality of both…
A near death experience
Brought spiritual growth.

Books have been written…
 Movies been made.
Opinions are formed
As these scenes are played.

But my faith is based
On biblical proof…
The words of Christ Jesus
Hold nothing but truth.

He spoke of Heaven
And He spoke of Hell.
 Spoke of losing one’s soul
So what does this spell?

It doesn’t spell Heaven
Lost souls don’t go there!
Then there’s the parable
Of the Rich Man’s despair.

The comfort of Lazarus
In Abraham’s bosom
Withheld from the Rich Man
By a widening chasm

Speaks of separation.
The sheep from the goats?
I can only point to
What the Word of God quotes.

This isn’t fear tactics…
I would call it tough love.
It’s really a warning
From God up above.

Because if there’s a Heaven
There’s the other place, too.
But we don’t have to go there…
It’s up to me and to you.

The choices are ours…
We’re either lost or we’re found.
If our choice is Christ Jesus
Then we ARE Heaven bound!!

Matthew 16:26
New King James Version (NKJV)
26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world,
and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Luke 16:22-28
22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels
to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw
Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me
and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water
and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said,
‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things
, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted
and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you
there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass
from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’

Matthew 25:31-33 31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels
with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. B)">32 All the nations
will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people
one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it
we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our
lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables
him even to subject all things to himself.

Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other
name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
