Response to A Daydream
Keep coming back,
back to the heart of me.
Keep staying in touch,
for one day you'll see.
Keep the faith,
even tho' it seems wrong.
Keep there by my side,
that's where I belong.
Diligence in task,
I must exercise my craft.
Wield I the power,
cure my pain this hour?
Hence it goes not by way of me.
I, alone, can't set it free.
I need you there,
I need you by me.
For now I offer friendship,
Let it blossom into love.
I've tasted you forever,
thanks for stickin' around, my dove.
And when you come to call,
I'll be there and all,
The reasons that kept getting
in our way,
will be gone and pass,
and we'll start a new day.
