The Warring Angel

Michael’s aware that his position
Is an important one
Chief, among the warring angels,
His work is second to none.

People do need his protection…
The Lord put him in charge.
 Demons still claim earth’s dominion
 And Satan’s still at large.

The sky and air above it
Remain a warring ground.
He escorts requests to Heaven
And brings the answers down.

He does battle with the forces
Who try harming God’s elite.
Although, at times, he’s been delayed
He has never known defeat.

Fighting principalities and powers
 Are Michael’s main concern
Yet he’s also trained to minister
And to strengthen those who turn

Away from sin and slavery
And all evil entities
He’s in service to each heir
Whom Jesus has set free.

He commands legions of Angels
Whose vast numbers are unknown.
We read of the children’s’ Angels
Standing at the Father’s Throne.

Jesus spoke of tens of thousands
He could have called to His rescue.
God has a great army of Angels
And one’s assigned to me and you.

If our spiritual eyes were opened
To see into those unseen realms
We’d be shocked and so amazed…
I’m sure completely overwhelmed!

Although we’re not to worship Angels
We must give thanks to up above
That the mighty warring Angel
Is one more gift of God’s great love.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities
, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world
, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Daniel 10:11-13
And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee,
and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand,
and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael,
one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

Hebrews 1:13-14
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Hebrews 13:2
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Matthew 18:10
10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven
their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Psalms 91:11 | Read whole chapter | See verse in context
For he shall give his angels charge over to keep thee in all thy ways.
