If I Could Write A Song

 Baby, once again,
It’s that special time of year.
Baby, once again,
I’ll hold your memory near.

We’ll dance the way we danced
 On our wedding day.
Waltzing with the wind…
Smiling as we sway.

 If I could write a song…
I’d write that melody…
This sweet feeling of your love
 Sweeping over me.

If I could write the words
Every lyric would embrace
The magic in your eyes…
The love upon your face.

Baby, once again,
I will spend the day alone.
I’m not answering the door
 Or picking up the telephone.

It will just be you and me…
The way it used to be…
Let me whisper in your ear…
Happy Anniversary.

If I could write a song…
That’s exactly what I’d do…
Every single note would say
My sweet darling, I love you.

If I could write the words
 You’d hear you still belong…
Right here in my heart…
O, if I could write a song.
