 Letting Go
Forgiveness is about letting go;
Releasing with both hands,
As well my mind and soul.
Opening my heart to you,
Healing has now began.
If I hold a grudge against you,
No matter how severe my grievance;
I poison my own heart with anger.
Freedom comes in forgiveness;
The full destruction of my ledger.
Without completely letting go;
I stumble in my spiritual path.
I feel I have a right to harbor
This anger, for you have hurt me;
Yet it is I that this dagger stabs.
Forgiveness is the sweet nectar of God.
He has shown us the way;
Nailing His grievances to the tree.
He releases us through Christ;
Washed in His blood… now righteous.
Do I deserve being forgiven?
Most certainly I do not.
God chooses to free me by letting go.
Saved by grace from wrath;
Enveloped in love, embraced in peace.
This is my example to live completely free;
Choosing to forgive, choosing to release.
Expressing love unbounded to mankind;
Walking in the freedom of gratitude;
Never holding on… always letting go.
