I perched myself upon a brittle branch
until the world quit spinning
until the saints took back their goodness
until I became weightless

Simplicity is a word
that must of came from a source
with a rainbow of vanity
There is nothing
inside this bubble
that is SIMPLE
I would like to call out
to the one... whom pulls my strings
he whom pushes my buttons
and the one I hear laughing
hysterically
That sarcastic highlander
with swords of justice
trailing me with his graceful angel
that tip toes upon this earth
like a mischievous ballerina
I am not wanting to be part
of your manuscript of examples
I tire with turned in eyes
You have shown me things
that I already know
The cost of this life
is not worth what I have already paid
Take me
if you will
Swaddle me within
those blackened wings
rip them from your back
and give me a sense...of
Relief and comfort
I am not paranoid by the sounds of clanking
by those handed down shackles of regret
and the quiet innuendos that come to me
by the one whom whispers in my ear
at an hour of the dead
when I rest my broken body
alongside those that lay next to me
This evening...I shall rise
and fall...
Upon my scarred knees
