The Beauty Within
Gazing at stars that fill up blackened skies
The moon to light my way
The magic within the universe
At which I wonder every day
The gentle innocence of butterflies
The crunch of autumn leaves
Snow upon my tongue
And falling asleep in the shade of trees
Corn ears brushing on my hands
Summer breeze upon my face
Putting the final piece of jigsaws
In the empty space
Watching raging storms
And anticipating thunder
Seeing a bed when shattered
And lifting sheets and climbing under
Walking barefoot on shaggy carpets
Being swamped by crashing waves
Listening to the quiet beneath
And floating in the haze
The Robin's joy on finding winter worms
The Hawk hovering above it's prey
The chick popping head out of broken shell
And kittens when they play
A Meerkat being nosey
A baby turtle running to the sea
The smell of baking bread
And homemade pie with gravy for my tea
So many more things are beautiful to me
Some of them only I can see
But none of them compare
To the beauty that lies within you
That I am so blessed to see
