 Gentle Touch
This life is strewn with the bodies
Of lives entangled in many traps.
My empathy to the sojourners;
Desiring that art of gentle touch.
Remembering my father‘s legacy;
Acknowledging his greatest gift.
Opening myself to his compassion;
Observing his life of a gentle touch.
Learning to walk with passion;
That true love for all of mankind.
Sitting at the feet of the Master;
Learning from His gentle touch.
Touching many souls and hearts;
Eager to reach out to everyone.
Desiring to embrace with kindness;
Destined to use that gentle touch.
This gift of a passion for humanity;
Passed down from the Father of all.
Enabled to walk with peaceful steps;
Wanting to practice that gentle touch.
With this gift comes the tightrope;
Perilous if not based on God's gifts.
Choosing not to walk in my ways;
Walking only with His gentle touch.
It is not always such an easy a trail;
Many stumbling opportunities await.
Reminding myself always God is love;
Then reaching out with a gentle touch.
