 Remembering
Friendships allowed to grow dormant;
I'm too busy to take the time, it seems.
Lifetimes upon lifetimes pass this stage;
Sitting on a folding chair in the darkness.
Wanting to feel the sun on my shoulders;
Hungry for a piece of life's peach cobbler.
Another day passing; I will write tomorrow;
Remembering the moments of laughter.
Slipping away like the sands in the hourglass;
Chances and opportunities are missed.
Friendship's treasure buried on the beach;
That inner pirate thirsty for another drink.
Time is relentless… unceasing in its progress;
Ticking away the precious moments of life.
Sitting, thinking about those days gone by;
Remembering friendship; just remembering.
