Proverbial Wisdom

If your foe is hungry,
Give him some food to eat;
If your foe is thirsty,
Pour a drink at his seat.

You make him feel guilty,
And even feel ashamed;
What he eats is plenty,
Having no motive aimed.

The north wind will bring rain,
As the east brings the sun;
You will see growing grain,
Golden when it is done.

Best to live in a cave,
Than inside with a wife;
Who thinks you are a slave,
Causing you so much strife.

Cold drinks for thirsty soul,
Good News from far away;
Letting Christ take control,
When you trust and obey.

A muddied spring or well,
Polluted with evil;
Are the outskirts of hell,
Playground of the devil.

Eating honey is good,
But not to eat too much;
Because gluttony could,
Leave stomach painful touch.
