Incurring Pain!

Incurring pain, I think that's the one?
It happens when you lose your mum;
It happened to me the other week,
Believe me, it's really no fun!
I've suffered grief before...I thought!
But never really knew how it felt,
Until my mum died 2 weeks ago,
Oh, but the blow that I was dealt!

She was struggling, my little mum,
And had suffered disability all her life...
But on and on she battled daily,
She fought through her struggle and strife.
My dad died about 18 years ago,
And the time really goes really fast!
But my mum never got over it...
And it got worse as the years past!

She just wanted my dad back,
But sadly we know it can't be so,
He's been up there, waiting for her,
And she was waiting for her time to go!
But time went on, mum got worse,
Couldn't stand being without dad,
He wasn't there to help her anymore,
And it just made my mum so sad.

So she pined away the years,
Then a whisper on the breeze one day,
Took my mum to a better place,
And for her now, it's really ok.
But for me, not so at all,
Cos I'm a mess, I'm all over the place,
I didn't want to lose her you see...
And in my heart now, is an empty space...

...A space that can only be for mum,
And now every time I think of her,
I see her face, her grace...her peace,
And wonder if life is fair?

Of course it is, because she's out of her misery,
Out of her pain, peace for the first time in forever!
