A Pet

There were times when people asked me about a pet
There was that look of surprise by the answer they get
I will have a pet and this I will say to you is quite true
Any pet that I have must be one that can bring some revenue

Pets no doubt will demand lots of care and attention
And later they too like children can cause some anxious situations
Because some time will come when there is nothing there stash
And there will be that need to find some unbudgeted cash

Let us use this as a reference as a matter of fact
That the pet acquired was that member of the feline called a cat
The owner must endeavor to keep those paws low as for sometime the future
It would not be too long before there are scratches in the furniture

There are those too who seem to spend a great deal of time
Pampering and caring for the one that is called canine
Taking that time out and at every little reaction
Would certainly book an appointment at the veterinarian

A friend of mine who once had as a pet a green monkey
This he raised from a pet until it reaches that age of maturity
In all that time it did acquired some form of jealousy and possessiveness
And will scratch him and bite at him and another person whom he address

There are time too when one can see a pet made to suffer
Sometimes being totally abandoned by its formerly loving owner
Who in the initial stages was so full of care and enthusiasm?
But over time the demands helped dulled the momentum

There is not that brings such light to a child's eye
When parent gave them money for a pet to buy
Letting them know in no uncertain terms and quite vehemently
That the welfare of this pet is their total responsibility
