                              Eiri Amach 1798           August 7, 2012

The rise against British rule in Ireland by the United Brotherhood in 98
The republican revolutionary group, those heroes met their fate
The ideas of the American and French revolutions stirred the thoughts of Irish freedom
Six months of hell, when many fell with the leaders captured and killed
The leaders crossed the religious divide with Irishmen united from every side
No discrimination was found, all Irishmen fought with pride
The French fleet returned home leaving Wolfetone alone
Giving England their luckiest escape since the Armada
The Northern Star was suppressed as they killed Irelands best
House burning and torture, pitch capping and murder
The Irish heroes were murdered like lambs to the slaughter
Divide and conquer was encouraged, no different than today
The United Brotherhood faced justice the British way
The rise against British rule in Ireland by the United Brotherhood in 98
The republican revolutionary group, those heroes met their fate
