That Medal
We have seen athletes doing well at the world championships
Be it Moscow, Berlin, Sweden, Los Angeles or even Zurich
But despite the amount of medals they received there
It's the ones at the Olympic which they certainly seem to revere
It was quite a sight to see Tyson Gay after the 100 meters wept
Because it seems away from him that moment was being swept
But it was a different person on the podium today as he smiled happily
Know now he could depart the scene with that medal increasing his tally
There is no doubt as one looked over the past two weeks
Those were privileged could say they witnessed some wonderful feats
As one certainly could not discount the competitive nature on display
Because many of those considered the favorite got a surprise in a way
Who was more so that the US team they most definitely got a shock
As in that one dominant Track and Field event was given a knock
Seeing that shift going in record breaking moment to the Caribbean
Whose athletes are now accomplishing that long waited dream?
History will always records event like the 100, 200 and 4x100 relay
There was no doubt in anyone's mind that the US got blown away
It was quite obvious that Yohan and Usain certainly inflicted some pain
Hence Mr. Gay and Mr. Gatling have to go back to the drawing board again
Some today may say Mr. Bolt is an icon others may say legend
Either way to me there accepting any is certainly not a problem
But to set records and then be the one to come and break them
