Modern Romance

It seems to me romance these days
Is a bit like catching the train:
You get to where you want to go
And then get off again.
And nobody seems to bother
About the left luggage rule,
Merrily spreading their seed
And expanding the gene pool.

On the Circle Line of life

Travelling round and around
Those children of near children
Taking life's pleasures
Wherever they can be found.
Maybe the concept of romance
In this wired age is long dead
Or maybe still existing but just
In this romantic's white haired head
