HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY

Once more it’s back to Memory Lane
While I celebrate your birth again.
I’ve never met your mom but I
Would have loved to hear of your first cry…

 Your first tooth…first unsteady step…
Those precious firsts moms don’t forget.
Would have loved to hear of things you did
Or said when you were just a kid.

And I will, one day, just as I vowed
If earthly memories are allowed...
If the good Lord grants us story time
I’ll hear of your first nursery rhyme…

Of your first Christmas…your first toy…
Things you loved when just a boy.
The first time that you climbed a tree
Or ran to her with a skinned knee.

There’s so much I still want to know
About the man that I love so.
The years we shared were precious few…
But few love as deep as me and you.

The years I spent being your wife
Were the happiest of all my life.
I’d never known such total bliss…
Never knew such feelings could exist.

Christ was the center of our lives.
We wore no masks…bore no disguise.
We loved as freely as we felt
Always knowing Who within us dwelt.

So, once again, I celebrate
The birth of my sweet man, my mate.
I’m blowing kisses up above…
Have a Heavenly Birthday, my love.
