THING-A-MA-JIG

I went down to the shop to get,ya know
one of those thing-a ma- jigs.
Anyway I asked for, ya know the thing-a ma-jig
and to my great consternation the assistant said, what do you
mean BY A THING-A-MA-JIG can you believe it.

What is wrong with these people serving in shops today
I quite Clearly aked for the thing-a-ma-jig,
I knew it was there, but did she, oh no,
she just stared blankly at me and
had the cheek to say,
SIR I haven’t a clue what a thing-a ma -jig is.

I says to her, oh how come it’s right behind you
the thing-a ma-jig.
Are you referring to this SIR.
then in her most supercilious manner
said to me this is not a thing-a-ma-jig-sir it’s a razor.

I couldn’t believe her cheek,
so I told her to just keep her razor
I’ll go elsewhere and get myself
a thing-a-ma-jig, what a silly girl.
