WAKENING

What is it with age, one minute sleeping
next moment awake. Looking around
confused, feet trying to find the ground.
Thinking, if I make the shower I won’t
be so confused,  make the shower still confused.

it’s the wakening, that’s the problem, gotta be.
I think perhaps I’ll just stay sleeping, can’t, oh well
Just have to get up and let my day flow, found the ground
things are on the up, feet are moving me forwards.
Upright and shaky I may be, but I’m awake and that’s a blessing
What is it with age; I know you’re happy you’re alive.
One problem with age, not a lot of old friends left around.

So lets be content, was gonna break into song.
you know the one, not the death dirge, the one, lets
be jolly, oh heck another problem with age, forgetfulness.
Have to content myself with wakening, ahead of the game.
Okay, I’ll. say a prayer. Thanks big G for another day.
