My Friend of Ireland

My friend of Ireland        August 23, 2012

Lie beside me my friend of Ireland beneath this Irish sky
The lead of the enemy marked you, this is why you die
Rest with me; I'm with you friend close and by your side
I'll be with you in your moment, my tear I cannot hide
My friend of Ireland we've been together with our cause
Good times and bad, we laughed as children on the street
We grew together in troubled times, we know our history book
We understood the risks we take and the difference we can make
The choice was easy; we had no choice, that's the risk we take
Our bond is strong, like many others, they told us we were wrong
My friend of Ireland your time has come, Heaven waits for you
Lie beside me my friend of Ireland beneath this Irish sky
The lead of the enemy marked you, this is why you die
