Wisdom is better than strength
Nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised
And his words are not heard
-Ecclesiastes 9:14-16
The powers of this modern world will take
A child who speaks a tongue that they cannot,
In educating him, this rule they make-
“We'll punish you for being a polyglott”
A Kurdish child, born with a Kurdish name,
Is told that nor his tongue nor name exist,
Both turned into a lable of pure shame,
His mouth is silenced by a teachers fist.
The Aborigines died for their tongue
The Cornish too. The Welsh, though still about,
Still fight. Yea, we deny food to the young...
Is it not sick to cut a child's tongue out?
They say they do it all to modernize,
But all they do is crush and vandalize.
Nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised
And his words are not heard
-Ecclesiastes 9:14-16
The powers of this modern world will take
A child who speaks a tongue that they cannot,
In educating him, this rule they make-
“We'll punish you for being a polyglott”
A Kurdish child, born with a Kurdish name,
Is told that nor his tongue nor name exist,
Both turned into a lable of pure shame,
His mouth is silenced by a teachers fist.
The Aborigines died for their tongue
The Cornish too. The Welsh, though still about,
Still fight. Yea, we deny food to the young...
Is it not sick to cut a child's tongue out?
They say they do it all to modernize,
But all they do is crush and vandalize.
