Out of the Cage
Release was mine for moments
I wanted it to last
Thought I'd seen the light
But the candle didn't last
I stepped out of the cage
That held my pain and hid my tears
Now I'm out there
There's other kinds of fears
Need to keep busy it will help me to forget
But your voice is even louder now
I have no direction
Where do I go now
Where is the warmth of light
That let me lay in bed fulfilled
Why don't my words
Take me to my field
Why does the pain return
Stronger than before
Why do I wish to hear
You knocking at my door
I am lost in freedom's palace
All the guests have gone away
The aftermath of party
Is getting in my way
Please, someone take me by the hand
And lead me to the path
Where peace of mind resides
An I can ease this wrath
Take hand then and imagine, a rose upon your heart
And feel the bloom unfold
Let it caress your mind
Let it take away the cold
The seeds now need water
Don't let them wither here
Embrace the scent that is escaping
And with each breath let out a tear
Ignore the cage that blinds you
You don't need it's sanctuary
Let the birds invade your mind
For they are flying, to where you need to be
