SERENE

Hassle and strife is the mainstay of our day.
We survive in an age where serenity is obscene.
Turn on the T.V. and it chose our war to screen
To utter  objective comments, rage and grunt
But why can't we say ,stop a moment. This is not serene'?

What can be wrong with gazing at the moon?
The serenity of the night soothing the stress’s away.
It seems at times we would rather have the indignities
of media hype foisted upon our minds.

Can we not be serene and calm?
Then, in a soothing manner, say
I would rather sit and gaze at the moon
And only ask that the ebony starlight night calm my mind

Do we want the hassle and strife of the day?
Can we not ask that the media hype be turned off?
Who knows, maybe it’s what we need to do
To have serenity and peace caress our minds.
Can we not have peace in our own time?
