Becoming one with Autumn
The leaves tell tales of yesterday
As summer ends its humid stay
A kiss goodbye that scorched our being
Nights cooler in fall believing
The days of blaze have come to end
As breeze whispers it's time to spend
Some time again dear old friend
Relax with colors it will lend
Brief though is this season's stint
It paints canvas leaving hints
That what was has taken leave
To moment now nature conceived
Know the days that follow will
Become of you and have its fill
Of indoor time but also out
Enjoy this gift to walk about
The trees will shed their veils for you
Creating path upon walked through
Falling to ground from here to there
Now naked is all they bare
And just before it does give way
To winters call, autumn will stay
A bit longer to have of you
Becoming one with autumn too
