Welcome to My Poetry Site
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, ‘Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.Matthew 18: 1-4
Here are some words to speak to our minds:
I stop keeping score now.
I come to God like a child, happy with who I am in Christ and not dependent on what I do for my joy.
I do not keep score of what I am doing.
My life is not a performance contest. It is a surrender to He who achieved perfectly in my place.
My achievements cannot add to that perfection and they cannot take away from it.
When I know I have done wrong, I can run to God and He will remind me of His forgiveness and like a child I can go in joy, in that forgiveness.
There is no hierarchy. There is no way I can become more or less worthy than anyone else.
Keeping score disagrees with the saving work that Christ did.
Self-condemnation disagrees with the saving work of Christ.
Self-righteousness disagrees also.
I do not need to and cannot save myself, God has provided the salvation.
I am to receive it and revel in it like a child who receives a free gift with wide eyed excitement.
