AUTUMN FLAME
Briskness of Autumn
Now Summer has escaped
Misty the mornings with
Ghostly white drape
Rose blooms have retreated
Red hips in their place
Gold are the leaves
Blackberries make haste
Log fires which crackle
With eventide song
Flurries of flame
Home is where we belong
Cosy to bed
Warming cocoa soothes our aches
Candle flickering on the table
Till dawn softly breaks
