If I were to count my sins
I’d never get it done.
I read the Ten Commandments
Knowing I broke every one.
If not in deed, I did in thought,
So my guilt I’ve firmly faced.
I’d be heading straight for Hell
If those sins were not erased.
The Christ I’d met in childhood
I found just a fantasy.
So many mistakes later
He was made so real to me.
O, but, what a revelation!!
A visitation from above!!
Slain beneath His power,
I was baptized in His love!!
I knew in that very instance
He’d forgiven every sin.
It wasn’t just believing
It was knowing deep within!
The moment I rose to my feet
I was changed forever more.
He was calling me to serve Him
And He’d just opened the door.
It’s been forty years or better
Since that Holy Ghost encounter.
Yes, I stumbled some along the way
But He’s made me a rebounder.
Once you’ve tasted of the Lord
There’s no way of letting go.
I wouldn’t want to, anyways,
Because I love my Savior so!
It hasn’t been all mountain tops…
All sweetness and all light.
I’ve walked through some dark valleys
But I’ve never lost the fight.
Some battles with the enemy
Have hit me pretty hard…
But God’s still in my corner
And, alleluia, He’s still Lord!!!

Psalm 34: 8
O taste and see that the LORD is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him
For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee
in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth
thy walking through this great wilderness:
these forty years the LORD thy God
hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing
And that every tongue should confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father
