SPEECH TO THE SOLDIERS BEFORE THE BATTLE OF AGENCOURT 1415
Gather hither you brave men of England
hear my voice tremble as I speak these words
words that come into existance from my heart
lyrics like a play about to be put to the ordeal
Here we find ourselves far from English soil
the soil our ancestors toiled over the generagions
so we could raise our children within its green pastures
an England where to be born is to be proud and to die for
is an honour among men.
As the light breaks the morrow morn
we must do battle with the French once more
let this be the last time this enemy of England
stands before us in battle, let this fray end in victory
In the morrow you men of old England stand proud
pray for God and Saint George and for the King
spare not the weapons which will do you proud
but make every blow count and every arrow a target
Let us kneel in prayer now and remember our loved ones
let us not forget brothers those who will shed blood tomorrow
that we will not forget you and that you die in honour...
now three cheers for Harry as we prepare for battle
three cheers as we meet those French on this field
and three cheers for the victory we will gain in this fight
Let God and Saint Crispin be our guiding light on his day...
