BELLA OUR LITTLE INVESTIGATOR

She's always on guard protecting this home
Nothing escapes by her without being checked
She'll search high and low and all around

For she has appointed herself as defender
There is nothing that ever gets by her at all
She patrols both day and throughout the night

We took her in as a abandoned little kitten
Who had been trying to survive a bitter winter
She was so scared and hungry I gave her food

She had been attacked by a neighbors big dog
But she had managed to escape with her life
Seeing her in pain I took her in to examine her

I told my wife we had to take to the Vet right away
The Doctor said it would be expensive to save her
We can put her to sleep it would be the best thing

I looked at my wife and said I know what should be done
I was a survivor myself from the war in which I'd fought
She fought so hard to survive so I said fix her up Doc

She seemed to know that we had saved her even though it
was a very hefty price that we'd paid to give her that one
chance to survive from her injuries inflicted by that dog
she encountered while she had been trying to survive one
of our most bitter Michigan winters, we have told people
who've asked us if the cost was really worth it in the end?
We always quickly respond that it was worth every penny of
that $500.00 vet bill for her to have survived it all and
that she has brought us both great happiness over the past
eight years she's been living with us here. We also have
one other cat who is named Lola and they both have always
been indoor cats while living with us so they would never
have to fear any other animals which may wander by outside
of our home and our little Bella will never have to endure
another bitter cold winter like cats whose owners let them
roam around outside regardless of the weather. They've both
been so pampered to the point that I think they both believe
they are just two little humans beings.
