To Praise but One
We've lost our way within ourselves
Brief was the thanks today short sell
Christ who hung about for you
Upon your cross near broken too
But His heart had mission yours
To save a soul He saw as pure
An act no one could ever follow
A promise kept for all tomorrows
He calls yet still today to those
That needs answer as once proposed
No less but more about this day
Lost yet found as is His way
A chase mans eyes still fails to see
A state of mind living blindly
Who do you praise this day awake?
Is it yourself, your soul forsakes
The Lord who came to die for you
The body torn sinless and true
A message sent to press upon
Ungrateful hearts still living wrong
Yet in mercy, not yours but His
He loves no less, yet still we miss
The point of no return draws near
The chance this day your last I fear
May be just that for time has end
Time mortal you cannot bend
Take heed and give a little thought
Who came before to claim, who bought?
Your life for His who paid the cost
To save mankind walking still lost
