Walkin on Air

Immutable Flash-back

                                    As you were then,
                                    yet never again,
                                    I see you standing there
                                    reading my mind:
                                    resolute though kind
                                    still loving me from a distance;
                                    t' was never about the body,
                                    mine now old and shoddy,
                                    our hearts and minds one became:
                                    biology followed after.

                                    Alone I am incomplete,
                                    actually obsolete:
                                    decaying in stages without spouse
                                    to nurture me and support;
                                    loneliness makes joy abort,
                                    leaves me reaching like Tantalus!
