My chair

By Cynthia L.B. Bogear

As the crosswinds blow and the summer ends
I feel the chill of a fall day
I lived in the summer light
And lost in the falls end

I walked in the glory of the sun
Loved in the ray of light
Now lust after just a beam
As I sit in a chair with no fun

I took advantage of the joy
Leaving nothing but shame
Now I sit in my chair
There is no fun or joy

What had once set me free
Has come back to me
My wheelchair  of hate
Has taken my legs I'm not free
