Lights and Blinds
Soft, feathery lights draw me near
My eyes closer
To the blinds,
I find
Solace in the warmth
Of their little arms
dwindling slowly,
silently,
From a silhouette
Of head and body
till there's no trace
Of their endearing embrace.
I understand the sun
Is about to retire
After a long day, I can
Ignite the fire
Of tears and loneliness,
Listen to my fears and sadness
Yet faith gives me wings
To fly, my soul sings.
