LET GO - AND LET GOD ...

Are there times - like me - where you hold on too tight 
To the things - that you should have let go ?
Only to find - that soon - they just turn to dust 
And then - they slip through your hands anyway ?

Or - like the monkey - trapped by its own desires 
We refuse to let go of our find ?
Only later to learn - we are caught in a trap 
As our hand - can' t get free - from it's bind ?

How foolish we are - to hold on so tight 
Like a child - clinging fast to a toy .
Only later to find - that we've missed GOD's best .
That HE had planned for us all to enjoy .

Sometimes - we really should stop and ask 
' Is this truly the best way for me ' ?
And - then we will hear - that still small voice -
Show us clearly - which way we should go .

Then - as we let go of the sticky sweets 
And all the clutter - that gets in the way .
We can take hold of the good - that the LORD has in store .
And be blessed - in a Surprising - and Wonderful Way .
