Lord, make me ruthless Help me to refuse the things that come wanting to feed the carnal part of me. Help me ruthlessly turn my back on them and ruthlessly put to death the misdeeds of my body by the Spirit. Help me place maximum trust in You. Help me co-operate to show your victory by ruthlessly keeping my eyes on You amongst the stormy waves. I refuse to look at the waves and want to be permanently rooted in You I want to have no regard for ungodly thoughts that come my way. I am to show them no mercy In Christ, I am to have maximum love for You and people. To cling to what is good and hate what is evil. The words ruthless, hate and merciless sound harsh, but Lord, these things - anxiety, fear, greed, self-righteousness they come to take me down - They come to defeat all people. They tempt our flesh - our carnal nature and our carnal nature is willing to receive them. But, Lord, they are hostile against us and they are hostile against our You. We are to love You We are to love people We are to kill our carnal nature - the corrupted part within us. And to kill our carnal nature, we must; in Christ - be ruthless, hostile and merciless against the things that come to build up the carnal nature and take us down. ****************************** Love God. Love people. Mark 12:30 Hate what is evil, cling to what is good. Romans 12:9 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
