Whispers In The Wind

Words whispered to another…
Words destructive and defaming
Are heard by Holy Angels…
Who are aware of what we’re claiming.

When Heaven’s Books are opened
 And every idle word recorded
Is read before the Judgment Seat…
Will we regret the strife we started?

It’s so easy to point fingers…
To ruin another’s reputation…
To speak of flash, glamour, and glitter…
To spread the stigma of sensation!

May God forgive our pettiness…
Forgive our misuse of His Name…
If gossip’s writing our agenda…
He’s sure to put us all to shame.

If we’re claiming to be Christians,
May I ask what does it take?
I know Jesus didn’t whisper
He simply called a snake a snake.

He was honest and straightforward…
Attacked accusers face to face…
They all got hung by their own tongue
When He put them in their place.

Whispers come by dressed as giants…
Thinking they can take some on!
But giants are sometimes taken down
By just a tiny little stone!

Sometimes we fail to realize
Just how sneakily we’ve sinned…
Yet we’re serving Satan’s purpose
Each time we whisper in the wind.

~~Dedicated to Dandy~~
(Who's had some anonymous whispers posted to him)

Proverbs 18:6-8
A fool's lips bring him strife, and his mouth
invites a beating. A fool's mouth is his
undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul.
 The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;
they go down to a man's inmost parts.

Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of
your mouths, but only what is helpful for building
others up according to their needs, that it may
 benefit those who listen.

James 3:10-15
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.
My brothers, this should not be.  Can both fresh water
and salt water flow from the same spring?  My brothers,
can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs?
Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him
show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility
that comes from wisdom.  But if you harbor bitter
envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast
about it or deny the truth. Such "wisdom" does not come
down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil.
