Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

Still hopeful?

Optimism fails in moments of sadness
when the light in the bright sky seems too far away
with only darkness and dark thoughts to ponder and remember
little feels answered in the true light of day.

Dreams you once dreamt now old and redundant
you have dreamt them so many times they no longer warm
and when the dark clouds that gather only darken by the moment
all you have left is… prepare for the storm.

Lessons in life taught that the storm will blow over
and all that was darkness will once more have light
but how many of us lost souls still searching for meaning
can come through the darkness still hopeful of sight?

This one is for Doris jacobs covington..
