How many times has this happened to me,
When brains turn to jelly and eyes do not see?
When passion arises and jumps out of bed
And dances and capers around in my head?
How come that you never see it arrive?
When silliest thoughts are permitted to thrive;
The sunshine is warmer and birds sing above,
You're hopelessly lost in unsuitable love.
Why do you do it? Each time is the same
And ends with your dreams being flushed down the drain,
The mind is ignored and lessons aren't learnt
And lust doesn't care if your fingers get burnt.
The heart becomes Master while wisdom is lost,
The wisdom so weary of counting the cost,
But feelings of romance now fit like a glove,
You're totally wrapped in unsuitable love.
At first she is lovely, vivacious and sweet;
You happily boast you would die at her feet
For one tender kiss or the touch of her skin,
You'd happily drown in this wonderful sin.
But then she gets restless and boredom arrives
And sooner or later you've said your goodbyes,
You try to smile bravely when given the shove
And kicked where it hurts by unsuitable love...
