Many unusual things occurred
When Christ was crucified.
First, an uncanny darkness
Filled the entire countryside.
The thick veil in the temple tore
Like a sign to indicate
That the way to God was opened
For His death opened the gate!
The earth shook… rocks split apart
And tombs released the dead!
Terrified Roman soldiers
Stood trembling in dread!
“Surely this was the Son of God!”
Was the statement made…
Souls took hold of saving Grace
Where mercy was displayed.
The very greatest act of love
Bestowed on humankind…
God, Himself, hung on three nails…
In His blood, freedom was signed.
Salvation can be realized
By the stains on Calvary.
Just one drop of the Savior’s blood
Produces perfect liberty.
The earthquake proved the scripture
Stones would cry out His name!
And those resurrected on that day
Tasted why He came.
The death of Jesus, followed by
His bodily resurrection,
Serves to guide each sinful soul
To a Heavenly connection.
Now seated at the right hand
Of Father God on high…
He’s ever making intersession
For the souls of you and I.
Soon to return to gather all
Believers to Himself.
In these last days shouldn’t we
Concentrate on little else?
Sleep easy with the knowledge
You were paid for with a price.
The very death of Jesus
Provides your place in Paradise.

Matthew 27:45-54
From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness
came over all the land. About the ninth hour
Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ""Eloi, Eloi,"
"lama" "sabachthani?"--which means, "My God,
my God, why have you forsaken me?" When
some of those standing there heard this, they said,
"He's calling Elijah." Immediately one of them ran
and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it
on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said,
"Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him."
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he
gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple
was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and
the rocks split. The tombs broke open and the bodies of
many holy people who had died were raised to life. They
came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they
went into the holy city and appeared to many people. When
the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw
the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified,
and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son of God!"
.Luke 19:39-40
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus,
"Teacher, rebuke your disciples! "I tell you," he replied,
"if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."
