'' I'll Be Heading For An Almighty Fall ''
To upset fellow poets is never my intention,
From criticising I tend to refrain,
So if your favorite subject I've failed to mention,
If it bothers you are you really that vain.
I personally write verse trying to please others,
That's what gives me self-satisfaction,
Poets are like a band of sisters and brothers,
None I know are of the self-seeking faction.
From honest critique I have no genuine fear,
The truth good or bad I will cherish,
It's a learning curve I always treat as sincere,
By my own words I'll live or I'll perish.
I write my words to inspire debate,
If you've read it and give me your views,
Then I can say whatever you state,
Your opinions are all mine to peruse.
Some love their verse written long, some short,
It's a matter of personal choice,
I don't have the right your words to distort,
Some will hate it while others will rejoice.
You can please all of the people some of the time,
But you'll never please them all,
The day I believe that I've reached my prime,
