H.M.S HOOD
Ventis Secundis,
When the HMS Hood went down in the deep
That was the news, that made mothers weep.
Their boys who had fought for their country proud
Lie deep down below with the sea for a shroud.
They are sleeping in heavenly peace
sleeping in heavenly peace........
Then came the day with guns in full play......
The Bismarck sank her, one day in may...
That was the job the Hood had to do, so be
Proud of her boys and the red white and blue......
Who are sleeping in heavenly peace
Sleeping in heaveanly peace.........
Then came George the Fifth and the Rodney........
They took in hand, what the Hood had to do.......
Norfolf, the Suffolf and the Dorsetshire as well
Blew rhe bismarck to hell, they sank that ship
They were glad for our boys, but for our boys we're sad
they're sleeping in heavenly peace, in heavenly peace.......
Now Mothers, wives, sweethearts, be proud of your boys
What they did do, we owe them a debt, we can never repay.....
But we shall remember them, our heroes today
who are sleeping in heavenly peace,sleeping in heavenly peace.............
