There are times when only silence
is all I wish to hear
when the battle guns have raged a thousand times
just to quieten out the mayhem
bring silence to the carnage
to rest the pain that echoes through my mind.
There are times when only shouting
is all that I can hear
and the peace I know seems lost and far away
everyone just screaming
anger shown as feelings
cause everybody wants to have their say.
There are times when just a whisper
are more than only words
when that whisper whispers words that are more kind
and with the birth of each day dawning
no need to shout a warning
for the battle guns have quietened in my mind.
