Listen O Heaven give an ear, I tell you something you should hear; On things I look for and I seek, I come to the Lord as I speak. He raised my children helped them grow, Gave knowledge and wisdom to know; But they rebelled and disobeyed; As they detoured in dark and strayed. Such filth for a nation in sin, No longer having discipline; The people are loaded with guilt, From all the iniquities built. The people do not understand, That they stand on some sinking sand; And just who has been feeding them, Is the same to judge and condemn. But they continue to rebel, Having an alliance with hell; An infected head and sick heart, Wisdom and knowledge depart. From under their feet to their head, They look more like the living dead; For they already lost their soul, Since the devil retains control. I expect that soon they will learn. About that their cities will burn; And watch their fields will be destroyed, Life as they knew will be devoid. Copyright © 2012 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
