A Memory
How often sitting with friends and family around
Enjoying that moment of banter and of course fun
But from the moment that ending bell is sound
Instantly into the walls of a memory it has become
That when you challenge the waters of the turbulent sea
Riding those high waves doing as you certainly please
But as you endure the fury and made to the shore
That too has crossed the threshold of memory's door
There were those moments very bold but of such delight
As you stroke the cricket ball elegantly in the fading light
How those around were so amazed by such great ability
This also have been clasp in the embrace of a memory
Then one day there was that feeling of needing that release
Felt it was the right time to give the farmer's dog a tease
How it chased you so determined across the open land
There are still those few scars to give the memory a helping hand
Those romantic feelings that compliments a moonlight night
There was nothing like seeing the surface reflecting the rays so bright
Holding her hand looking into those eyes while reciting some poetry
These moments tend to occupy the front row in the memory
So here now sitting by the fireside and this is a known certainty
That youth too has now become a very distant memory
But these experiences provide such moments so that one can relive
Those moments that only a place in the memory can give
Enjoying that moment of banter and of course fun
But from the moment that ending bell is sound
Instantly into the walls of a memory it has become
That when you challenge the waters of the turbulent sea
Riding those high waves doing as you certainly please
