Democracy in Ireland
Democracy in Ireland December 8, 2012
Is democracy gone with the union flag down, loyalist mobs can't stop the change?
Democracy progressed on a Belfast night with the flag of their union gone
America asked for peace, the flag dissenters said no
The loyalists wrecked the town, their loyalty did show
When the planters came to our island, they took away our rights
They denied our culture and religion, stealing our country with force
The difference of time doesn't change the crime, they brought their foreign flag
Killed for religion or an Irish name, murdered by the forces, hidden Irish graves
Not Genocide then, genocide now how human rights have changed
Remove an Irish son from the land of his birth, how sick and how deranged
Palestine like the Irish, their land like Ireland was stolen just the same
Nations will rise with spirit of freedom and unite together as one
Countries will be respected again, our revolution has begun
Can the power of a nation deny human rights, Can Ireland forgive the crime
Ask Bobby or Joe, both had to go with other Irishmen by their side
The army came, invaded our homes, many Irish people died
Human rights denied by that foreign flag, many Irish martyrs tried
The Irish of today want the Brits to go away, back to their Queen and country
If you don't like it here, we make it very clear, democracy is part of our nation
When the numbers were wrong we were forced to live under rules of invasion
Numbers have changed; democracy prevails, without the apron of the butcher
We're Irish and proud with no foreign flag in our future
Is democracy gone with the union flag down, loyalist mob can't stop the change?
Democracy progressed on a Belfast night with the flag of their union gone
