"sonnet62"
on chill first night tred boots through mind
one untold word `tween us do bind,
the distant sands tell their own tales
in books a voice is heard to wail,
they say dead men live in the air
whilst those at home still do despair,
we know that song, Sahib and i
a lonesome tear we find does shy,
two lives we lead, one there and here
a mystic's path once said that seer,
one path is straight the other twines
yet still be lit with three bright shine;
for you a soldier by my soul
in swimming fires allah makes coal.
